OUR LOVE STORY

When we met

Our journey together began in December 2022, during a time when both of us were navigating some of the hardest challenges in our lives. What started as a supportive friendship quickly blossomed into something much deeper. We discovered how perfectly we complemented each other and fell in love. From the very beginning, we knew our connection was something special, and we are so proud of the life and family we have built together.

Fast forward to

In what feels like no time at all, our lives have been filled with incredible milestones. On February 18th, 2023, we welcomed our beautiful daughter, Alora, into the world, a moment that forever changed us. Later that year, in November, we achieved another dream—buying our first home together and then a second home in January this year. Along the way, we’ve poured our hearts into building Edge Exterior Plastering, our family business, a testament to our teamwork and shared vision for the future.

The proposal

Dean’s proposal was nothing short of magical. During a winter getaway to Queenstown on June 25th, we visited one of Dean’s close family friends, Julie Hendrick. Together, they had planned a special outing to a stunning viewing spot overlooking Lake Hawea, just across from Julie’s home. The location, fittingly known as the “Wedding Tree,” was perched on a cliff and framed by breathtaking scenery.

Julie offered to capture a few family photos and then snapped some of just Dean and me. As I faced her, Dean got down on one knee and proposed, taking me completely by surprise. The moment was beautiful and heartfelt—though, in a humorous twist, Julie’s attempt to record it didn’t work, so we ended up reenacting the scene for a video! It was a perfect reflection of us: spontaneous, full of love, and unforgettable.
